  • A new recorded disease of banana in China was found when the species and damages of banana leaf spot disease in Hainan were investigated.Based on the results of tissue isolating,Koch’s postulates,morphology identification,rDNA-ITS sequence cloning and Pyricularia rDNA-ITS sequences phylogenetic tree analysis,the disease was nominated banana leaf spot disease,whose pathogen was identified as Pyricularia angulata Hashioka.

Abstract: A new recorded disease of banana in China was found when the species and damages of banana leaf spot disease in Hainan were investigated.Based on the results of tissue isolating,Koch’s postulates,morphology identification,rDNA-ITS sequence cloning and Pyricularia rDNA-ITS sequences phylogenetic tree analysis,the disease was nominated banana leaf spot disease,whose pathogen was identified as Pyricularia angulata Hashioka.
