Medicinal Plant Resources in the Fengshui Woods in Zhongshan City

Abstract: Fengshui woods is a unique green culture heritage of South China and Hong Kong,and has a very high value of ecosystem service function and landscape culture. A survey was made of the medicinal plant resources in Fengshui woods in 66 villages of Zhongshan city,Guangdong Province,China. In these woods there exists a total of 451 species and varieties falling into 324 genera under 131 families of medicinal plants in Zhongshan city. Among them there are 33 species of fern plants belonging to 22 genera under 18 families; 4 species of gymnosperms plants belonging to 3 genera under 3 families; 368 species of dicotyledonous plants belonging to 264 genera under95 families,and 46 species of monocotyledon plants belonging to 35 genera under 15 families. This survey might provide theoretical reference for the development and utilization of medicinal plants in Zhongshan city.
