Abstract: Scutellaria baicalensis georgi was extracted with distilled water at different ratio to analyze their inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus aureus. The extraction methods were optimized by using orthogonal array design, and the minimum inhibitory concentration( MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration( MBC) of aqueous extracts of S. baicalensis georgi. was analyzed based on inhibitory zone size of the bacteria by using paper disc diffusion method. The results showed that S. baicalensis georgi extracted with distilled water at a ratio of 1∶ 60 for 1 hour at the temperature of 80 ℃ had the best inhibition effect on S. aureus, with its MIC and MBC being 6. 25 g·L-1and25 g·L-1,respectively.
